Das alte KNUST in der Brandstwiete. Die Musikkneipe "KNUST" wurde 1976 im Souterrain des "Hallerschen" Geschäftshauses Brandstwiete 2 eröffnet. Dieser Ort hatte vorher bereits eine traditionsreiche Geschichte. Der KNUST bestand dort von 1976 bis 31.12.2001. Der Betrieb wurde zum 31.12.2001 eingestellt, da das Gebäude einem Neubau weichen musste. Seit 2003 ist das KNUST in der alten Rinderschlachthalle (Neuer Kamp 30) untergebracht.

"KNUST" ist ein norddeutscher Begriff und bedeutet der Kanten oder das Ende vom Brot – bekanntermaßen ist das für viele das Beste oder Leckerste vom Brot. Gerne hart – aber immer gerecht (da zwei Mal vorhanden ?).
